How To Make Your Own Gourmet Pasta Sauce

Pasta sauce recipe is not difficult to make at all. You will require four basic ingredients to make a gourmet sauce of your choice. The key ingredient and base of this recipe is none other than the tomatoes. You should select the finest quality and fresh tomatoes with tight skin and soft pulp inside. Avoid selecting the mushy and soft ones because they don't taste good in this recipe. For instance, if you remain unable to get good quality fresh tomatoes then you can opt for tinned variety.

Besides tomatoes, the second most important ingredient of this dish is fresh herbs it can be either fresh basil or fresh oregano depending on what your personal preference is. These herbs add a very different but uplifting taste to the sauce. Although it's advisable to go for the fresh herbs but if they are unavailable you can go for dried ones as well but they may differ in terms of taste.

An additional paramount ingredient is garlic which gives an extremely sharp essence to your recipe. Garlic has an exceptionally overwhelming taste so it's advisable that you don't include excessive amount of it as it may demolish your entire dish.

Fourth and final ingredient you require is chilies. This is the most essential ingredient because without spice you will not get that punching vibrant taste. It's up to you whether you use fresh chilies or powdered one. You can vary in terms of quantity as well depending on how spicy you want your dish to be. Beware of the fact that too much addition of chili is not a good thing and it may bear harmful effects on your health in the long run.

Besides these four basic ingredients, you can add more flavor by including olive oil, vinegar, black pepper and salt. Firstly, fry all the chopped tomatoes till they become soft and juicy and then put all of the other ingredients all together.

Let it simmer for a few minutes on low heat and then stir in well until the oil starts to separate from the sauce. If you prefer, sprinkle a little amount of cheddar or other cheese of your choice and your gourmet recipe is ready. It goes well with vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian pasta dishes.

Therefore, the making of gourmet pasta sauce could be regarded as extremely quick and simple. The ingredients used are just the basic ones nothing much authentic or expensive at all. You will observe that the homemade one is far much better than the ready made brands readily available out there in the market.
