A lot of people is not aware regarding the significance of early planning and preparation for emergency situations like if ever a disaster or calamity may hit their place or location. But early planning and prepared for the possibility of a disaster or calamity to happen increases a person's chances of survival. Having an emergency food storage is one of the first things to do to be ready for any untoward incidents that may happen. Below are some factors to be considered when planning to start your emergency survival food storage:

-When making a list of foods that you need to store for survival, make sure to include foods that are well-balanced, easy to store and easy to prepare foods, nutritious and foods that has long shelf life. Storing foods that that are rich in proteins, quality fats, carbohydrates and vitamins and minerals are highly-recommended. During situations that a disaster or calamity just happened, these kinds of foods will help you and your family have the nutrients needed for survival.

-Aside from nutritious foods, the body needs water to survive. Thus, it is important to make sure that water is included in your list of your emergency food storage. You can't rely on your normal water supply because during situations wherein a disaster r calamity happens, there is a big possibility of insufficient water and food supply so you need to store ample supply of water for you and your family.

-A cool, dry place which is also free from rodents and other insects is a recommended place for you to store your emergency food storage. You can look for a place in your house that you can use for this purpose.

-Another important thing to do is to always check your survival food storage and replace those that are already expired. Checking your food list every 4-6 months is highly-recommended.

Below are some recommended foods to be included in your emergency survival food storage:

Also they contain considerable amounts of nutrition that can help you and your family sustain through any disaster and calamity. Aside from that, most canned goods are ready to eat and are easy to prepare which is very important during disasters and calamities.

-Rice and oatmeal are also recommended to be included in your list of survival food storage because they are a good source of vitamins and carbohydrates and they are also easy to prepare and easy to store.

-Dehydrated goods are not only inexpensive but they also have long shelf life making it a good type of food to be included in the list of emergency food storage. Noodles, Pasta and cereals are good example of dehydrated foods.

-Bottled water- bottled water should not be forgotten and deleted on your list of survival foods. Water plays a major role to make sure that you and your family will survive during emergency situations like disaster and calamity.

Food and water plays a very important role for you and your family to survive emergency situations like when a disaster or calamity will happen. That is why making sure you have sufficient water and food supply storage intended to be consumed when an emergency happens is very important since it can increase you and your family's chances of survival.
