Most will agree that once you start eating traditional dessert bars with a hint of lemons, you simply cannot stop. For many, these tasty treats are reminiscent of their childhood and wholesome goodness that would fill the kitchen with its sweet smells serving as an easy dessert your guests will love. The following recipe provides a few simple baking tips for creating the most delicious lemon bars.

It is best to produce a treat bar that delivers the ideal crust to filling ratios and therefore the following steps takes a closer look at the creation of flavorful dessert creations. Many recipes are available on the internet; however, the prefect results include the appropriate balance to achieve awesome bars. This includes a combination of sugar, eggs, and butter for extra creamy textures.

To make the crust prepare ingredients such as 1.5 cups of the all purpose flour, only two thirds a cup of powdered sugar, a half teaspoon of salt, an average of a quarter cup of cornstarch, and preferably hard or frozen butter consisting of 12 tablespoons. For the filling use 4 eggs, approximately 10.5 ounces of sugar, 1 and a third cups of low fat or full cream milk, pinch of salt, and 2 teaspoons of lemon zest with two thirds cup of fresh juice. Include medium and large mixing bowls.

The oven should be preheated to 350 degrees F including a deep baking tray greased with oil or spray. One should prepare the salt, cornstarch, powdered sugar, and flour in a bowl while stirring slowly until completely mixed. Include the use of a food processor for ease of mixing and to cut the frozen or hard butter into the mix until combines for 10 seconds.

The initial mixture should come out with a coarse texture as it makes up the crust for the treats. Press this mixture into the baking tray with an even layer at the bottom. Place the tray into the fridge for 30 minute to set and then bake for 20 minutes thereafter until it develops a golden brown appearance.

The filling is easy to make and involves a combination of eggs, flour, sugar, milk, lemon zest and juice into a medium sized mixing bowl. The crust should be removed from the oven and have the filling mix poured over it while still warm. Bake for another 20 minutes.

The treats should be cut into slices once completed. It is best to add powdered sugar over the delicious lemon bars for a sweeter experience. Be sure to monitor the baking process to prevent from over heating and to achieve desired results.
