Discover How To Make A Chicken Plucker

By Helene Norris

It is necessary to learn how to make a chicken plucker in order to cut down the coast. Especially those who keep chickens. The procedure for making homemade pluckers is simple and the materials involved in the making are readily available within our reach. First, it is sensible to consider how it works before embarking on the procedure of making it. This simple machine is used to help in the plucking of the feathers of a chicken. It always has a mortar which rotates the feather plate and the feathers plate is fitted with rubber fingers which do the actual plucking when rotated.

It is worth noting that there are several types of chicken plucker. There are some which are bought while there are some which are home made. It is also important to note that they are of different sizes depending on the number of chicken they can pluck at the same time. The one discussed in this article is a homemade and a simple one which cannot pluck many chickens at the same time. Though the idea of making is the same, one can decide which size they wish to make depending on the size of the poultry farm.

If you wish to make a machine which plucks one chicken at a time, the size of the tank or the barrel should be smaller. But if you wish to pluck several chickens concurrently, then your plucker should be big. It is necessary that the size of the barrel is proportionate to the size which can accommodate the number desired. Even the already made pluckers are always of different sizes.

The first stage is to construct a frame using the pieces of wood. The frame should be made in a way that the barrel fits inside it. If the barrel is big, then it applies that the wood frame must be big. On the other hand if the barrel is small, then the frame must also be small. What is important is that the barrel must fit inside the wood frame to protect it.

After identifying the suitable area, a timber frame is then constructed in the place. The size of the frame should be proportionate to the size of the available barrel as well as the size of the desired plucker. The barrel is then fitted in to the frame which holds it firmly.

The plate is then drilled using a driller to create several holes on the surface. The number of holes depends on the numbers of available rubber fingers. What is significant is to ensure that the rubber fingers are properly fitted. This is because the plate is the one which plucks the feathers.

After the plate is properly fitted with the rubbers, it is then mounted at the bottom of the barrel, then connected to a mortar. Belt and pulley system can be used to connect the mortar and the plate. An individual may also decide to just fix the mortar directly to the feather plate. The mortar then is connected to an electric source to help in the rotation.

The other thing to consider is put a splash guard around the feather plate outlet. This helps in letting out the soup from the chicken properly without messing up the area. After everything is put in place, the plucker is ready for use and can easily be used. This is the simplest way on how to make a chicken plucker which is affordable.
