The very best fast food

By George Dodson

You're definitely familiar with drive through restaurants if you're into watching old films such as "Happy Days" and if you've been born on the early 60's. At one time, these were all the rage. Car hops, as they were called, were usually girls. They wore uniforms in almost all occasions. Some even used skates to get the food out faster.

You could pull up in a car hop would come to your car and take your order. She'll then come rolling to your car window with a tray of your specified order. You'd consume the food and put the trash run on the tray, on the horn, and the car hop would come and retrieve your tray. Drive throughs were basically used in most of the beach boy movie settings and a few establishments went very famous because of this.

Most of these drive-in serve fast food such as burgers, fries, and some soft drinks such as Coke or Pepsi. In some places you can order chicken or grilled cheese sandwich.

With the constant improvement of technology comes also the improvements in the drive through business. Modern drive throughs no longer make use of "car hops" with their sleek uniforms and skates. However, a few still try to keep the tradition. They try to keep the set up as simple as possible and the rates as convenient as can be for consumers. However, competition for this kind of business is very much risky specially if you're competing with major companies. So what exactly is the best drive through food that most people crave about?

Among the most successful drive-ins in history is "Sonic". These drive-ins have a varied menu, easy parking, and in some cases you can drive through, pick what you want to eat, and pay at the window. The days where a waiter needs to bring a tray to serve your order and clean your trash are already gone. Most the food is brought to your car in a bag.

Having to decide which drive-in food is the most palatable for everyone is quite a difficult question to answer. If we look at the chronological order of drive in foods, hamburger seems to come out on the top. For most of these drive-ins, the burger is easy to fix, and easy to price competitively.

Some of the more famous drive-ins such as Dairy Queen, and A&W root beer, had specialties that there famous for. Most of the customers who go to these drive-ins, are therefore a specific food such as a specialized burger, or some special fries. The special food from other drive-ins is what's likely to capture the customers attention and taste. One prime example is Carl Junior's six dollar burger.

With modern innovation, Dairy Queens chose to make ice cream their specialty food. Others, such as A&W root beer, favor root beer over most of the food that they served.

Obviously, the Burger King or the Big Mac can never be faced out when it comes to specialty food from drive-in restaurants. Yet again, we can see through here that burgers have the most variations and therefore has the most right to voted the best drive-in food.

Many people have been concerned about the ingredients in some of these foods, and such stores like McDonald's began serving healthier meals such as salads and fruits. Fortunately, this alternative works for customers as well.
